Antique Framed Broadside Advertisement Fall Winter Fashion Van's Tipton IA 1880s

Description

You're bidding on an antique, framed broadside type advertisement - a fairly large flyer at 18" X 23 1/2", 22" X 27 1/2" in frame. The ad is for the new fall and winter goods at Van's, which appears to have been a clothing and general store in Tipton, IA. I have not found out much about this business, or its proprietor (named at the bottom), P. J. Van Slyck. Based on the list of goods for sale, this would seem to date to probably the 1870s-1880s.
A classic sort of Victorian-period broadside, with long lists of all the fine and fancy threads, cloths, weaves and styles on offer, and lots of declamatory statements and exclamation points - Announcement Extraordinary! The line of untrimmed Velvet Hats for 30 Cents, cannot be surpassed for twice that amount at any place in the country!
Appears to have some condition issues - a chunk missing from bottom margin, a tear near top center, some edge chipping and some seam splitting, and a few light spots - I'm guessing it was framed to be preserved and unframing it would probably not be good. Amazing that it survives at all, though, and  fairly clean appearance with nice presentation value. Framing appears contemporary, but it looks appropriate, wood-gesso construction with a sort of distressed silver metallic paint.
