Description
Our historyOver the course of 100 years, Caran d'Ache instruments have become internationally renowned for the drawing and writing experience they offer through the elegance of their lines, the quality of their materials, the purity of their pigments and the technical brilliance of their design.
The family business, which was founded in Geneva in 1915, owes this to a shared vision, the unique values of Swiss Made excellence, and an innate sense of creativity and innovation.
Our values
Our values are the soul that goes into crafting our products and the beacon that guides us every day and in everything we do.
They create an entire state of mind that ensures we remain inventive, environmentally responsible, committed to passing on knowledge and education, focused on our quest for excellence, and loyal to the Swiss Made label that embodies the quality of our products.
Our commitments
Our commitments feed into a long-term vision that places sustainable development and social responsibility at the heart of everything we do.
The proof of this is easy to see in the number of steps we have taken to protect the environment and the partnerships we have formed. We work with social and cultural stakeholders and with local and international artists who are proud to be ambassadors for our values.
Our Expertise
Behind each of the drawing and writing instruments created in our workshops in Geneva is a group of passionate craftspeople, all of whom are custodians of unique, century-old techniques.
More than 90 trades come together under the same roof to lovingly make the very best writing and drawing instruments to help you express your creativity.
Our partnerships
We want to pass on the values of innovation and creativity that we hold dear, which is why we support a range of institutions that share our beliefs.
The institutions we work with all participate in developing and influencing cultural, social, educational and humanitarian action in their own way.
Our ambassadors
Although Caran d'Ache loves to work with famous designers and artists such as Paul Smith, Mario Botta and India Mahdavi, we also support young illustrators, artists and writers, who bring their creativity and emotions to life with Caran d'Ache products.
The Caran d'Ache experience
Every year Caran d'Ache organises training workshops for almost 2,000 teachers in Switzerland. We also hold creative workshops in companies and in hospitals to promote well-being among employees, patients and medical professionals.
Through this range of educational activities, we hope to offer everyone the chance to rediscover or refine their art, while also promoting skill sharing and self-fulfilment.
